Perkiomen Valley senior attackman Jake Lynn has made a verbal commitment to play Division III lacrosse at Centenary College.

Lynn collected 23 goals and 28 assists last season for Perkiomen Valley, helping the Vikings finish 12-7 and qualify for the Pioneer Athletic Conference and District 1 playoffs.

He intends to major in elementary education at Centenary.

Lynn already has ties to Centenary. His mother attended the school for a year and several friends pushed him towards Centenary. Lynn was intrigued by the small campus (in Hackettstown, N.J.) and the school’s potential growth.

“My campus visit went really well,” Lynn said. “I had a good host. I like the campus. It has a lot of new buildings and a cafeteria and everything like that. It just stood out to me compared to all my colleges because it’s new and it just seems like it’s growing and it’s still building.”

Lynn joins two teammates heading for Division III lacrosse programs. Defenseman Dave Duryea and attackman Peter Sclafani are set to attend Ursinus next fall. Two other Philly seniors have committed to Centenary: Souderton goalie Grant Nice and Pennsbury attackman Josh Caven.

For now, Lynn, Duryea and Sclafani are focused on winning their conference and advancing to the district playoffs.
