Archbishop Spalding (MD) junior midfielder Ryan Cochran has made a verbal commitment to play Division I lacrosse at the University of Delaware.

Archbishop Spalding junior midfielder Ryan Cochran has committed to Delaware
Cochran, who has worked with the Holiday Homeless Drive and won the 2010 Science Achievement Award, is considering marketing or criminal justice as his field of study. He cited academics and the reputation of the Blue Hen lacrosse program for his decision.
“I chose Delaware because of its strong academics and its wide variety of majors,” Cochran said. “I wanted to play for a top Division I school and have heard great things about the coaching staff and the lacrosse program. I also like that it’s not too far from Annapolis.
“My visits went great. I visited the university two times before I made my decision,” Cochran added. “I first met with the coaches and they gave me a tour of the campus and the lacrosse facilities and then I went back up to watch a practice and talk with some of the players.”
Cochran also considered Villanova, Towson, Maryland and Syracuse.
Cochran and the Cavaliers will look to build off of their playoff berth last season.
“Our team has been working very hard off [during the] season,” Cochran said. “Every game is very tough so we will have to focus on one game at a time, but of course our team goal is to win the championship.”
